In 1998, Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Soon after graduating, she signed a teaching contract with Somonauk School District as a Special Education Teacher. During her first year of teaching, she saw need for improvement in the area of reading with her students. After doing thorough research and testing sample programs, she approached her superior about purchasing a new reading program called Corrective Reading that would emphasize critical thinking skills, logic, phonics, expository text--specifically designed for students with learning disabilities. With the support of her superior, she went ahead and presented a power point presentation to the parent organization about Corrective Reading. The parent organization ended up financing most of the purchase of the program--thus empowering students with special needs to gain critical reading and learning skills needed to function in the literate world. During her second year of teaching, Sarah co-piloted the reading program and took maternity leave to have her first-born son, Gabriel Frielink. After the birth of her first child, she started volunteering as a reading tutor for Kishwaukee College. In 2001, she won the outstanding Literacy Volunteer of the Year Award from the college and started teaching G.E.D. classes for high school drop-outs. She enjoyed teaching her students that any dream can come true and empowering her students to find jobs, write stories, and get their G.E.D.s. Currently, Sarah is finishing her Master's thesis at Northern Illinois University in philosophy of education. She is slated to graduate in December of 2008. In Sarah's free time, she and her husband Adam enjoy writing parent-spoof songs, guitar songs, and piano pieces. They both have spent many Sunday mornings singing for church and have shared their music with the community. Also, Sarah has experience presenting workshops for school districts and clients. After her kids go to bed, Sarah enjoy writing screenplays, poetry, and articles for newspapers. Currently she is fitness columnist for the Weekly Journals. She also does freelance magazine writing for various magazines. She published her first book, Mermaids in the Sand, a family poetry album and memoir in 2005. Sarah is currently working on a fictional novel, which started as a screenplay, with her two screenwriting partners Andrea Bauer and Cori Crouch. Sarah is devoting all of her free time to finishing the novel and her freelance magazine writing. |

| Adam Frielink is also a creative catalyst for change and improvement. Adam graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1996 from Northern Illinois University. During the last nine years Adam has worked in various roles as a computer programmer, systems analyst, business analyst, sales, and web design. He is currently working as a software consultant for Data-Link Associates owned by Richard Frielink, Adam's father. He also does consulting with Tyco International and Thoroughbred International. During his free time he enjoys writing music on his guitar, teaching Tae Kwon Do, designing websites, and managing virtual boxers for WeBL. | |
| Kimberly Mullarkey | Graphic Design and Illustration |
| Kimberly Mullarkey currently holds a Master of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University. She shares an art studio with various artists and gives private lessons. She currently teaches classes at the College of Dupage,the Morten Arboretum, the Illinois Institute of Art, The Fine Line in St. Charles. Her talents and gifts include graphic design, illustration, still life, mixed media, and collages. She has worked for companies in the past as a graphic artist and currently does freelancing. Also, she has had her artwork on display internationally and regionally. Among the many shows, specifically in 2001, she had an exhibition in Monflanquin, France called Realisme et Naturalisme at the G.E.M Arts Plastiques. Currently her artwork is on display in Cincinati, Ohio at Flowers and Beyond. She enjoys going on yearly trips outside of the United States and teaching art students in different countries. | |

| Darlene Siwik has a nation-wide reputation for her incredible gifts in interior design. Her main office is located in Geneva, Illionis where she has worked with various clients homes, businesses, and sets. Her work has been published and photographed in severaral decorator magazines. Leaving Dark is honored to have her on the team for interior design and set design. Currently, she is designing Sarah Frielink's kitchen and the offices of Leaving Dark Enterprises. Most recently she finished designing the Frielink's living room. Darlene is truely an artist who can see the heart of the client and transform a room to make the desires of the client's heart come true. She currently services many high-profile clientele and her work brings refreshing light and atmosphere to any home, set, and business. |
